Because of the decision to change my adult books name from D B Shan to Darren Shan, there has been a slight tweak to the publication schedule for the paperback editions in the UK. The paperback of Hell’s Horizon, which was due to be released this September, has now been pushed back to March 2010, when it will be released at the same time as the Trade Paperback edition of City of the Snakes — both will be released under the name of Darren Shan. Also at that time, a new edition of Procession of the Dead will be released, again under the name of Darren Shan. Finally, the paperback edition of City of the Snakes will now be released in August 2010, instead of October 2010, so as to avoid clashing with my children’s book that month.

I’m happy to confirm that Procession of the Dead is due for release in the USA on June 1st 2010. The even better news for the more impatient fans among you is that the second book of the series, Hell’s Horizon, is due to follow swiftly on its heels — it’s scheduled to go on sale just six months later, on January 1st 2011!!! I know it’s been a long wait, but once these books hit, it’s going to be fast and furious from that point on!!! There was an article about me and Een Stoet Van Doden (the Dutch title for Procession of the Dead) in a magazine in the Netherlands during December. Super-fan Sander Jaecques kindly scanned this in and posted it to the web, so if you’re fluent in Dutch, you can check it out by clicking here.

Procession of the Dead has now gone on sale in Japan (November 2008). I haven’t seen the cover yet, but as soon as I do, I’ll add it to this site. In the meantime, if you’re reading this and you live in Japan, go hunt for the book in your nearest bookstore NOW!!! Procession of the Dead goes on sale in the Netherlands in November, where it has been titled Een Stoet Van Doden. I’m going to be very interested to see what my Dutch fans make of my foray into the world of adult literature, so please write in with your thoughts once you’re read it!! The smaller, less expensive paperback edition of Procession of the Dead goes on sale in the UK and Ireland from September 1st. It has the same cover image as the larger paperback, but the colours have been reversed, so the background is black and the drawing is in white. I’m delighted to announce that the Japanese publishers, Shogakukan, have bought Procession of the Dead and will be publishing it in the near future.
